The girls showed their softer side and got all pinup-y

Merry Xmas from Dr. Sketchy’s! Many art monkeys turned out to share the holiday cheer…and tie one on! Our session featured a holiday assortment pack of models. We started with STMUL8R as one dead sexy Santa.

Our art monkeys were treated to a sassy burlesque performance to “Santa Baby” by the fabulous Lady Borgia, followed by some more poses.

One festive sketcher wins the “Draw Lady Borgia with Santa’s Elves” for her “elf gang bang” composition!

Mynx D’Meanor wows the crowd with her performance, then more poses!

Last but not least was sparkly goth princess Mija Macabre!

Welcome Art Monkeys to our new home at the fabulous Ruby Room in Hillcrest! For our first official Ruby Room session, Mynx D’Meanor of the Fishnet Follies Burlesque Revue essayed poses in honor of a favorite kink classic, the 2002 film Secretary.

Our art monkeys adapted well to their new environment.

Reverend Dick lent Mynx a, ahem…hand with the poses

The models choose the winner of the “Best Portrait in Red Sharpie” contest. Don’t get it? You must see the film!

The proud winner of a set of colored Sharpies…

And a shot, of course.

Mynx really lost herself in the role.

Some entries in the “Mynx in Bondage” contest

The winner gets a “Pimp my cubicle” playset and humorous sticky notes…just the thing to distract your mind from the soul-sucking tedium that is office work!

Give that girl a hand, she deserves it!

Special thanks to Sean, Paul and Brittany at the Ruby Room, Mynx D’Meanor and Reverend Dick of Fishnet Follies, and our Art Monkeys!

Our gorgeous founder Molly Crabapple was in town doin’ the Con and hosting a special session of Dr. Sketchy’s at Gaslamp hot spot The Local

Legendary model muses the Gallery Girls were on hand to inspire the Con going sketchers as women of history, such as Annie Oakley

Patty Hearst

Cleopatra

and Marie Antoinette

The Local was packed with Comic Con Art Monkeys eager to capture the Gallery Girls’ forms

DJ Jason Savvy set the mood

A little fun was had with the historical timeline

The winner of the random noun and modifier contest (”fiery table”) won a Con exclusive Luke Skywalker bobble head doll. Geek bliss!

A very resourceful Art Monkey did some excellent sketching on a piece of cardboard found on the street

Dr. Sketchy’s San Diego’s own Matt take a break from photography duties to pose with San Diego illustrator Lisa Ann Wilson and friends (and some drunk guy in a random bear suit)

See you next Con! Special thanks to Molly Crabapple, The Gallery Girls, Mina and everyone at The Local, and all the Con goers and local Art Monkeys who turned out! (All photos by Matt Hohlfeld)
